Ahdaf Soueif is the author of the collection of essays Mezzaterra, two collections of short stories, Aisha and Sandpiper, a selection of which has been published in 2007 under the title I Think of You, and two novels, In the Eye of the Sun and The Map of Love. Shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize, The Map of Love has been widely published, and has sold over 400,000 copies in the English language. Soueif is also the translator (from the Arabic) of Mourid Barghouti’s I Saw Ramallah. Her articles on culture and politics appear in an array of Arabic and European papers, including The Guardian, Granta, al-Hayat, Le Monde, The Nation, El Pais¸ and others.
