Christopher Friend has worked on global issues related to the visually impaired for over 40 years. He is currently the Strategic Objective Leader and Accessibility Chair for the World Blind Union (WBU) and the Global Right to Read Campaign. The WBU is a worldwide movement of the blind and visually impaired, which promotes belief in the abilities of the visually impaired community and their full integration in society. Friend is also Programme Development Advisor for Sightsavers International (SSI), an organisation that works to combat blindness in developing countries. Christopher’s other roles include work as a trainer and mentor in communication and executive life skills for the VI National Leaders across Africa.
