Dr. Bassem Awad is a Chief Judge at the Egyptian Ministry of Justice. He is also a Lecturer of IP Law at the regional centre of intellectual property, University of Helwan in Cairo and the postgraduate programmes at the Faculty of Law, University of Alexandria. He holds a Ph.D. in Intellectual Property from the University of Montpellier in France, an LL.M. in IP from the same University and another LL.M. in International Business Law from the University of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne). He has prepared several papers on copyright exceptions and limitations; patents in Egypt, the United States and Europe; and enforcement of IP law in Egypt.
