Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi's record is full of notable cultural and social accomplishments especially in the publishing sector and children's literature arenas. In addition to winning the "Cultural Personality for 2007" award, Her Highness has established Kalimat publishing house for children's literature which currently produces in excess of 40 titles a year. Her Highness chairs many vital governmental positions and is the President of the "Culture without Borders" committee, launched by the ruler of Sharjah, which aims at creating a library in every house in the Emirate of Sharjah. In addition to being an advisor for the Arab Symposium for Children's Literature Publishers and President of the Emirati Publishers Association - which is responsible for the representation of Emirati publishers locally and globally and the development of the publishing industry in the country - Her Highness chairs the Higher Council for the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) in the United Arab Emirates.
