Marybeth Peters became the United States Register of Copyrights in 1994.  She serves on the Intellectual Property Advisory Committees of the George Washington University Law School , as well as other committees.  Marybeth is a member of organisations that include the Copyright Society of the , the IP Section of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the ALAI-USA and the International Technology Law Association. During 1989-1990, Marybeth was a consultant on copyright law to the World Intellectual Property Organisation in Geneva, .
